Jahnkes really been putting his nose to the grindstone, reviewing appropriately-themed DVDs and Blu-rays for you. To kick off this last week of the Fest, hes turned in a look at E1 Entertainments Night of the Demons on DVD! Hope you enjoy it! Meanwhile, in the interest of full disclosure, we should admit that Jahnke himself suffered a terrible reviewing accident over the weekend. Seems ol Docs Blu-ray player blew a gasket and threw a right into his skull! Turns out those DVDs are pretty indestructible. Dont worry though. Its really only a flesh wound. Jahnke heals fast. Fortunately, hed nearly finished his reviews for the week before he lapsed into a disc-induced coma. All that remains is his final review of the season. And the good news is, hes at least the rock vs triple h backlash and can talk backwards. But still, that ought to be good enough! His lovely wife the former Dr. Girlfriend can transcribe it all bedside and send his final review in just in time for Friday! Now thats dedication, folks! Dr. Jahnkes a real go-getter. Its the adventures of a young Husker-vintage Adama during the first Cylon War essentially, the Razor flashback writ large. This was that project that was originally going to be an online web series, but apparently the network liked the idea so much they want to air it straight up and maybe turn it into a full series. Guess theyve been watching Caprica Well leave you this morning with a look at the cover art for a few recently announced Blu-ray catalog releases: Universals Ray due 2/1, New Lines Pleasantville 2/1 and Criterions Army of Shadows Whew! It wasnt easy, folks, but Ive now combed through all SIX discs and sampled every damn feature and extra AND compared it disc by disc with the previous DVDs and now my review is finally live: Foxs amazing Alien Anthology Blu-ray set is here at last! This bad boy streets next Tuesday 10/26 and its real format heavyweight. The stunning new HD transfers of Alien and Aliens alone are almost worth the price of admission all by themselves, not to mention ALL of the previous Quadrilogy extras plus literally HOURS of all-new content created just for this BD release. Ill tell you: Blu-rays just dont get much better than this. Im sure someone out there could theoretically create a more elaborate and comprehensive special edition than but Im not sure how.
